The Driving Range at Bumble Bee Hollow Golf Center is the largest practice facility of its kind in Central Pennsylvania. With 32 ground-level hitting stalls, as well as 25 more on the upper deck, the facility is able to remain open year ‘round and in all types of weather. The high quality mats used on the hitting decks are augmented by a turf teeing area with sand bunkers and putting green, all of which may be accessed for an additional “greens fee” of $2.00.
Driving Range Hours generally track those of the pro shop (home page) – however one automated ball dispenser turns on at 7:00 am for “early birds” who would like to hit a bucket prior to their tee times or before work. Hitters who arrive to practice before 9:00 am must have pre-purchased their token(s), must have exact change for a bill acceptor, or must have an eRange FOB (below) to get balls. Due to grounds-keeping constraints, the grass tee, bunkers, and putting green are not available for use prior to regular pro shop hours.
Range Bucket Prices
Pricing of the tokens varies with quantities purchased – graduated discounts are available for driving range ‘regulars’ who are willing to pay in advance. However, individual buckets are priced as follows:
Small bucket [45 balls]: $6.00
Large bucket [75 balls]: $8.00
Jumbo bucket [125 balls]: $11.00

The Rules of the Range
The rules of the range are posted behind the downstairs sidewalk have been developed over many years to assure customer safety. These rules should be read and followed by each patron who visits the Golf Center’s driving range. Because the management and staff of Bumble Bee Hollow take customers’ safety and security very seriously, intentional violations of any of the posted requirements may lead to dismissal from the facility on a temporary or permanent basis.
Range Discounts With eRange FOBs
eRange FOBs are the latest convenience and the least expensive way to purchase tokens. Each FOB is electronically loaded with an amount pre-paid by the customer – this amount is dispensed bucket-by-bucket as the customer arrives at the range and activates a receptacle on the front of the appropriate ball machine. The receptacle recognizes the FOB as containing so many $$$’s which may be spent; it understands from the customer’s use of the adjoining keypad what size bucket is being requested; it calculates the discount and deducts the correct dollar amount from the total on the FOB; and it signals the machine to drop the proper number of balls into the customer’s bucket.
eRange FOB pre-paid bucket-by-bucket discount cardThis entire process takes fewer than 15 seconds from the time the FOB is pressed against the front of the ball machine until the customer walks away with his bucket of balls, saving him time as well as money on each transaction. When the FOB runs low on funds, it can be re-loaded with more credit by simply presenting it again in the pro shop. The following discounts may be obtained by pre-purchasing in the listed amounts:
